Our City Plans is comprehensive urban planning framework developed and utilised by UN-Habitat. This toolbox can be used by urban professionals in any city or region in the pursuit of better designed spaces that meet the needs of its citizens and the challenges facing any city.
How can you present and design a complex urban planning toolbox with over 50 items that doesn't completely overwhelm a user? How can we allow for discovery and knowledge to be shared on a topic that takes a substantial investment from users?

I provided user experience, detailed information architecture and visual design. I also served as project manager.
The client has reported growing interest in their toolbox and initiative, resulting in a commitment to continually update and modify the site based on user feedback. A companion site oriented towards Central America was created.
Content was continuously refined based on making sure we didn't fatigue users with too much content. We tried our best to opt for visual aids and illustrations. We knew that there would be a significant time investment on a part of a user so we wanted to make this online experience as enjoyable as possible.
